Project for Atelier Joana Vasconcelos focused on designing a modular sofa that adapts to various spaces through circular geometry. Each component, from the base to the back cushions, is independent allowing for complete customization and flexibility. Tiago’s role involved 3D modeling, preparing technical drawings, and contributing to the conceptual development, ensuring alignment with the artist’s vision and creative direction.

Concept - Base

The sofa bases can be assembled in countless layout variations.
In line with Joana’s artistic approach, the shapes are designed to reflect the flow and harmony present in her work, emphasizing the union between forms. The circle takes center stage as the core element, with all other components following and responding to its geometry.

Concept - Cushion

Thanks to a weight integrated into the base of the cushion, it remains completely detached from the sofa structure and requires no additional support. With a solidified base and the addition of a non-slip surface underneath, we were able to create a back cushion that is fully adaptable to endless layout configurations.
